Prayer 2020-08-29

May we be like trees planted by streams of water

Which yield fruit in season because we are in Your Word daily


If any of us is going through a wilderness period,

Open our eyes to see the treasure in that

As Israelites could have manna only in the desert and not after they went into the promised land,

may we not miss out on the treasures you have for us in this season 


MAY WE SEEK YOUR FACE

MY heart says of you, seek his face

Your face I will seek!!!


Strength does not come from horses or chariots,

It does not come from money or technology or career or stability --

It comes from you -- may we go directly to you for strength


You said!! You reward those who diligently seek you -

May we seek you diligently.. Reward us with MORE OF YOU


Use the wilderness period as you trained Moses and David using it


Because your will for me is not to have an easy life but to make me like Christ,

so I will REJOICE when I face troubles

because it will make me more like Christ in resilience, character, faith


If any of us is facing hardship, enable us to face it with PURE joy

because it will build up our perseverance, character, faith, 


Enable us to stare at it in the face and say -- IN ALL THINGS God is working for my good

In this God is making me more like Christ

I will not shy away, I will not wish it away, I will overcome this,

because Christ overcame the world

He took on the cross for the joy set before him, so I will do likewise


May our eyes see you newly during this time

Reveal new aspects of you that we hadn't seen before

May we be able to say -- my ears had heard of you but now my eyes see you!!


Give us hearts like David,

Zeal and tenacity like Paul,

Abraham's faith,

Elijah and Elisha's spirit (double portion of their spirits),

Daniel's resolve,

Moses' intimacy with you,

Joseph's perseverance and faithfulness,

Esther's if I die I die,

Centurion's faith,

Caleb's wholeheartedness,

Samuel's eagerness to run to Eli in the middle of the night,

Stephen's forgiveness,

Peter's eagerness -- Lord if it is you, tell me to come walk on water

 

May I be like Christ and leave any trace of feeling like a victim or bitterness

Forgive me if there are times where I have dwelled in self pity, or bitterness, or unforgiveness


Search me O God, and know my heart

Test me and know my anxious thoughts

See if there is any offensive way in me and lead me in the way everlasting

I want to please you, I don't want anything that offends you in me

Show me that I may repent and throw it away, I wanna be on good terms with you


May we love you and enjoy you more than ANYTHING 

Whom have I in heaven but you, and earth has NOTHING I desire beside you

My heart and flesh may fail, but YOU are the strength of my heart and my portion for. ever.


If anyone is going through a dry season, enable us to say

though the fig tree does not bud and no cattle in the stalls,

I WILL REJOICE IN THE LORD,

I WILL BE JOYFUL IN GOD MY SAVIOR.

THE SOVEREIGN LORD IS MY STRENGTH

AND HE ENABLES ME TO GO ON THE HEIGHTS

THE LORD LIVES!!

PRAISE BE TO MY ROCK, EXALTED BE GOD MY SAVIOR!!!


Use our hardships to draw us closer to you


May we love your Word, taste and see that you are good

And experience that oh Your Word is so sweet

Sweeter than honey that we may keep coming back to it!!!

Give us discipline to regularly feed our spirits even when we don't feel like it

40-day Bible Reading Plan

At the beginning of the shelter in place season, God caught my attention to do a 40-day fast, and the verse that came with it was “man shall not live on bread alone but on every word that comes out of the mouth of God”  so I started a 40-day Bible reading plan. Jabez was more honorable than his brothers. His mother had named him Jabez, saying, “I gave birth to him in pain.” Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Heal Our Land // 주의 얼굴을 구하게 하소서

When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. The closer we get to God, the more free and true to ourselves we become We become everything we can be We become fully ourselves As we identify with Christ The part of God that He's put in us , the real us, get revealed more and more The closer we walk with God, the more real and true versions of ourselves we become God has put treasures inside of you that nobody else in the world has The world's is waiting for those treasures to be released The closer to God we become We become united because we are aligned with God And, in a way, the more different we become from one another, because our uniqueness gets revealed Because now we are becoming the best version of ourselves God is big enough to have created all of us And to have made us all different And yet still be bigger than the sum of us all

Motives

Prov 14:12 There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.  16:2 All a man's ways seem innocent to him, but motives are weighed by the LORD. 21:2 I want to exhort you on the desire to have a pur motive before God, to want to do right by Him. I think that's wonderful, and a good desire to have, and that God is pleased by it. I remembered Hebrews 3:12 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any double edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. I think discernment and purity is important, because we can be right intentioned but not 100% pure, etc. But we will get to more purity, etc., not as we search/focus internally (though sometimes necessary) but more as we meditate on God's Word.
