waves
I was at magic sand and was riding the waves, and at some point they got big and I was upside down in the waters
It was kind of a wake up call spiritually because it reminded me that the smaller waves that come are training us for the big one that's coming (I keep hear a big wave of revival is coming), and that we don't decide when the waves come
It felt like I was going, God I just wanna rest, I thought this trip was supposed to be resting and refreshing, and instead i was hit with more waves, and I was reminded that I should be thankful for these waves because without them I won't be ready for the big one
I tapped out for the physical waves (they got too big and I drank some water and I was like, I'm out) but I'm not tapping out of the spiritual training
We are soldiers in the Kingdom of God
2timothy:
Endure hardship with us like a good soldier of Christ Jesus.
No one serving as a soldier gets involved in civilian affairs--he wants to please his commanding officer.
Similarly, if anyone competes as an athlete, he does not receive the victor's crown unless he competes according to the rules.
And the bigger your calling/assignment, the harder the training will be
If you're called as a general, you will receive a generals training
If you want Olympic gold medal, you'll have to train harder and higher level of sacrifice required
And even with the failing to ride waves and drinking ocean water, that will happen in life with us stumbling or feeling like we're drowning under the trial, but the big thing that matters is not whether or not we get perfection but if we let these waves ready us for the real deal
This is what God tells the kings of Israel (I think of them as equivalent to people with the big callings)
When he takes the throne of his kingdom, he is to write for himself on a scroll a copy of this law, taken from that of the priests, who are Levites.
It is to be with him, and he is to read it all the days of his life so that he may learn to revere the LORD his God and follow carefully all the words of this law and these decrees
and not consider himself better than his brothers and turn from the law to the right or to the left. Then he and his descendants will reign a long time over his kingdom in Israel.
