 Make me more like Christ

Till He’s formed in me (Gal)

Sanctify me by the truth; your word is truth (John)

Sanctify me through and through (1 THess)

For that is your will for me

Your good, pleasing, perfect will


Use the hard things and pain

To form Christ in me

To work my patience, love, joy, peace


Use the one I don’t like

To work my patience and love

It’s a chance for me to practice loving someone I don’t like



I no longer live

but Christ lives in me

the life i live now

i live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me



This dry season of life

When good gifts are gone

Prune me and train me

So I will be fruitful


When I come out of it 

I’ll be able to say

My ears had heard of you

but now my eyes see you


NOT VICTIMIZED


You work in ALL things for the good of those who love you


I have joy and give thanks

Because even this moment

You’re working somehow

To make me more like Christ


Sanctification

God works in all things (trials, suffering, pain) for my good (my sanctification, which is God’s will, good, perfect pleasing will)  -- so we are to receive it with joy and give thanks -- because it’s for our good, because it’s the best that could happen to us

Pure joy - james 1 ; trials of many kinds

We will be glorified in him

We will share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ

Bringing many sons to glory

You call us brothers and sisters

Little Christ

If this world is all, we are to be the most pitied


God disciplines us for our good, that we may share in his holiness

Later on, however, it produce a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained bu it

Pure joy -- trials of many kinds -- testing of faith -> perseverance -> mature and complete, not lacking anything

40-day Bible Reading Plan

At the beginning of the shelter in place season, God caught my attention to do a 40-day fast, and the verse that came with it was “man shall not live on bread alone but on every word that comes out of the mouth of God”  so I started a 40-day Bible reading plan. The variety of things that had filled my life prior to covid I no longer have, but personally it was a blessing in disguise for me because it enabled me to go deeper into what I had remaining -- God, His Word, and being able to worship. This has been a season for me digging down my roots deeply, where I was not distracted by the voices of the world  or even my friends, and was able to tune into God and be closer to him than ever before. Heal Our Land // 주의 얼굴을 구하게 하소서

When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Motives

Prov 14:12 There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.  16:2 All a man's ways seem innocent to him, but motives are weighed by the LORD. 21:2 I want to exhort you on the desire to have a pur motive before God, to want to do right by Him. I think that's wonderful, and a good desire to have, and that God is pleased by it. I remembered Hebrews 3:12 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any double edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. I think discernment and purity is important, because we can be right intentioned but not 100% pure, etc. But we will get to more purity, etc., not as we search/focus internally (though sometimes necessary) but more as we meditate on God's Word. Hope

If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men. ... So will it be with the resurrection of the dead.
